Christian Mission Community Clinic

The Christian Mission Centers Community Clinic was established to meet a growing need among the individuals and families we serve every day. As we worked alongside those in our Recovery Program, Emergency Shelter, and the surrounding community, it became clear that many people lacked access to even the most basic medical care. Through a partnership with Dr. Sam Sawyer, our Community Clinic was created to bridge that gap by providing compassionate, accessible healthcare to those who need it most.
Our clinic focuses on basic medical needs that often become major obstacles for individuals trying to rebuild their lives. Whether it's helping someone obtain routine blood pressure medication, addressing minor illnesses or injuries, managing ongoing maintenance medications, or providing basic medical guidance, the clinic exists to ensure that people don't have to choose between receiving care and meeting their everyday needs.
One of the greatest benefits of the Community Clinic is continuity of care. Too often, individuals without access to primary healthcare rely on emergency rooms for routine medical issues, seeing a different provider each visit and receiving little long-term follow-up. Our clinic allows patients to build relationships with a trusted physician who understands their medical history and can provide consistent care, helping prevent unnecessary emergency room visits while improving overall health outcomes.
The clinic is led by Dr. Sam Sawyer, who faithfully served the Enterprise community as a general surgeon for 38 years before retiring. Rather than slowing down, Dr. Sawyer chose to dedicate his time and experience to serving those who are often overlooked. His passion for helping others and his heart for service have made him an invaluable part of this ministry, providing not only medical expertise but genuine compassion for every patient he serves.
The Community Clinic is especially impactful for residents in our New Life Recovery Program and Emergency Shelter. Recovery involves far more than overcoming addiction; it requires addressing physical health, chronic conditions, and medical barriers that can hinder progress. By offering basic healthcare services in a familiar, supportive environment, the clinic helps participants remain focused on rebuilding their lives while receiving the medical attention they need.
Our vision has always been to care for the whole person; body, mind, and spirit. The Community Clinic is another way Christian Mission Centers demonstrates the love of Christ through practical service. Every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay.
The clinic operates entirely through generous community support. Many medications are donated, while others are provided at reduced cost through local partnerships. Every financial gift, thrift store donation, and act of generosity helps make this ministry possible. Because Christian Mission Centers is not federally or state funded, support from individuals, churches, businesses, and community partners allows us to continue providing life-changing care to those who need it most.
By investing in the Community Clinic, you are helping provide hope, healing, and a second chance for people throughout our community. Together, we are meeting immediate medical needs while helping individuals take meaningful steps toward healthier, more stable, and more independent lives.
